The Fourth Moldovan-American Convention (MAC4) entitled "Diaspora Civic Engagement. What should Diaspora do and how can it best contribute to the communities and people here and back home?" took place in Miami, Florida, on October 14, 2017. The Social Project Contest "North American Diaspora for Moldova" was held at MAC4 as well. The winner, MD Diaspora APP (presented by Corina Dobanda, Miami, Florida, USA), won a grant of $500 and benefited from MAC support for the course of one year.
Participants came from 14 states in the US, Canada, Republic of Moldova, and Romania.
The fourth edition of the Convention was entirely funded by contributions from the Moldovan diaspora and corporate sponsors. It was not affiliated with nor was it funded by the Moldovan or the United States governments.
The Convention took place at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts; Peacock Foundation Studio. 1300 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, FL
